Judith Hambleton a Newport resident for 17 years, and now two years in West Greenwich is currently
Director of Education of the Newport Art Museum. She has a BFA in Painting, University of
Massachusetts, Amherst; Art Education Certificate, Massachusetts College of Art; Masters Art
Education with Studio Concentration and Community Education, University of Massachusetts,
Dartmouth. She is a RI & MA Certified Art Teacher K-12.
Hambleton’s childhood was spent on Nantucket Island. The island’s beauty and artistic community
influenced her. Her late father, sculptor Bud Hambleton, worked there and her mother ran a successful
gallery. The family has since moved off island, and currently lives in Southeastern Massachusetts.
Hambleton has had exhibitions at the Nantucket Artists’ Association; Massachusetts State House;
Spring Bull Studio Gallery, Cadeaux du Monde, Newport, RI; and Sakonnet Artists’ Cooperative,
Tiverton, RI. Past group exhibitions include the Annual Juried Members’ Exhibition, Newport Art
Museum.
